Inspired by her daughter Sara, who was born with Down’s Syndrome, Debra Rub started a for-profit organization called TecAccess, that would help companies see the worth and potential in hiring disabled employees. By 2011, TecAccess, which was an I.C.T. accessibility firm whose majority of staff were technologists with disabilities, was a multi-million-dollar firm.
Debra went on to establish Ruh Global Communications which focuses on global disability inclusion, digital marketing, employability, I.C.T. accessibility, human rights, social media marketing and implementation of theUnited Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
Debra is Co-Founder of AXSChat (www.AXSChat.com) a twitter chat about accessibility
and disability inclusion. AXSChat is the #1 TweetChat in the world with over billion tweets. Axschat
happens every Tuesday at 3PM EST on twitter at #AXSchat. She is also a G3ict board advisor
