The return of Cpark to Hack Access Dublin

The Hack Access Dublin community is a loyal one.

Not only is our core organising team composed of previous participants, but teams have been known to participate in our hackathon in Dublin repeatedly to refine their solutions to accessibility challenges.

Take Cpark. They took part in our first hackathon in 2016 and worked on solving the problem of how disabled car parking spaces are abused. They didn’t win that year but were so committed to their idea that they spent the next year working on refining it.

It was worth it as they were one of the teams that were awarded a prize for data by Smart Dublin for their app which provided real time availability of accessible car park spaces.  It also incorporated a digital authentication system that eliminated the risk of fraudulent use of disabled parking permits.

Some of the Cpark team were part of the group involved in getting our Community Events we run in Dogpatch Labs, off the ground following the second hackathon.

Determinated. Loyal. Committed. As well as smart, disruptive and creative. This is how we would describe members of our community - and we are extremely proud and grateful to have them with us!
